Completely Off Topic: Norwex

***Update: Okay, NOW I’m having my own Norwex party. It wasn’t my intention at the time that I originally wrote this article, but now that I’ve bought so many of their products, I’m just going to go ahead and throw my own Norwex party and get a discount. I adore this stuff. So disregard my original disclosure that I get nothing out of it.

Also, I was using the cloths wrong. Go figure. The Envirocloth should have been the wet cloth and the window cloth should have been dry. Still worked great though!***

This post is going off topic. It has nothing to do with bees, honey, chickens, or eggs, and only loosely ties into homesteading, but I’m writing it anyway. Which should tell you that I’m more than impressed.

I should start by saying that I have absolutely NO financial interest in this company I’m going to talk about. I am NOT selling their products. I do not receive free items or any commission or anything for this post at all. I do not own stock. Nothing. In fact, I’ll be paying my friend for the items out of my own pocket at a zero percent discount. I get nothing out of this, but I couldn’t help but promote it. Please bear with me as I explain because I have nothing to gain from this, and I’m blown away. I promise you. Norwex products are incredible. Where has this been all my life? This is amazing!

BEFORE. See the streaks at the top! This is how my windows usually look.
AFTER. No streaks! The picture doesn't even do this justice.

So this Norwex obsession started because many of my women’s group friends also are pursuing entrepreneurship, much like me selling honey and eggs. We all have found our own little niches, and we’re all in the infancy of building them into something more. In fact, we’re going to start a business group now for the very purpose of learning from and encouraging each other. I’m so excited, but that’s off topic even further.

As we’re talking about our businesses, my friend Darla is telling me about these Norwex cleaning cloths and stuff she’s selling. I’m listening and really happy for her, but honestly, I was skeptical still. Then our other friend chimes in about how well they worked on her windows. Her dog walked into the sliding door because she thought it was open! No joke. And you only use water to clean with. So then I’m thinking, okay, I’ll try maybe one. See if I like it. My windows are always very streaky because we have horses, and they kick up dust when it’s dry out (not to mention 3 dogs plus kids). If I don’t like it, I never have to buy it again. Right?

Darla, of course, does me one better. She tells me that she’ll get me a kit for windows. One cloth to wash with (and, no kidding, just use water) and one to dry. I don’t have to use the dry cloth she says, but it works better with it. If I like them, I can buy them. If not, it’s perfectly fine.

She gets me the cloths, as well as some counter cloths (to replace my paper towels), a sample of laundry detergent, and a sample of dishwasher detergent. She tells me to just try it and bring the cloths back to her dirty. Of course, I balked at that, but she promised me that she really does want them back dirty. So, I tried them! On everything.

I have probably not cleaned this light fixture since we moved in!
After. I can't believe the difference. The picture is just not enough.

Oh my goodness! These cloths are incredible. I did almost every window in my house (with just these 2 cloths. Not rinsing them in between or anything), and they’ve never, ever looked this good.

And, not sure I was supposed to, but I also cleaned every appliance in my kitchen, big and small, just to test their usefulness. Again without washing them first. Other than the clutter on my countertops, my kitchen looks brand new. Even my husband noticed, and trust me, he’s no neat freak. I’m shocked.

So I did all my windows and my entire kitchen with two cloths (wet and dry) start to finish without rinsing the cloths. No cleaners. No chemicals. Nothing but cleaning cloths and tap water.

I took before and after pictures of almost everything. You’ll just have to trust me that this was all just with these 2 cloths. I did rinse the wet one once because it was getting dry on me.

I have nothing to gain by doing this post, and Darla didn’t even ask me to do it. I’m that impressed. You should try this stuff. If you have any friends that sell it, please contact them to try it and buy some for yourself. If you don’t know anyone though, here’s Darla’s  Norwex products website. She’d be happy to help you. Plus, she’s just a wonderful person.

Before. Water spots.
After. Completely clear!
Before. My daughter's mess from lunch.
I missed some crumbs, but the rest of the table is spotless.

I wish I had taken pictures of my kitchen too. Everything looks soooo good!

I haven’t tried the laundry or dishwasher detergent yet, but I tried the counter cloths. I like them too, but not to the extent that I like the window cloths. Don’t get me wrong. They’re good. Super absorbent. I’ve tried them both wet and dry. They’re better than a regular wash cloth for sure. Mostly, I like the idea of reducing our paper towel waste though, so I’ll probably buy them in the end.

I buy paper towels like a Covid hoarder folks. We use an absolute ton! If this cuts my paper towel usage in half even, I’ll be saving money in the end.

The other thing I’m looking to replace is my Swiffer wet jet. I LOVE it, but the price of the floor cleaning fluid and the cleaning pads is really expensive over time. The fluid doesn’t really last that long, and you can’t refill the bottles with your own cleaning solution. Norwex has one, and again, you just use water with it. I probably won’t blog about it (unless it’s also amazing), but I think I’m gonna try it.

I was debating whether or not to add the following picture. It’s so gross. This is the window cloth after I was done. I cleaned most of the window sills too by the way. At the same time. With the same cloth. That’s all the stuff that came off my windows! Yuck.

By the way, the other side is still clean. I could have kept going. I love things that make my life easier, and in the long run, I think this will actually save me some money from not buying paper towels and cleaning products.
